Avoiding cervical cancer

Every year across the UK, 3,200 new cases of cervical cancer are diagnosed, but many are avoidable through regular proactive cervical smear testing. A cervical smear is not a test to detect cancer, it’s a test to help prevent cancer, so it’s a really valuable way to support your own wellbeing.

We know that having a cervical smear can be uncomfortable and feel quite personal but we have a really experienced nursing team who will work with you to ensure that the process is as stress free as possible.

If you want to avoid cervical cancer, check out the NHS guidance: Cervical screening – NHS (www.nhs.uk)

If you haven’t had a regular smear test, please call the surgery to book an appointment.
